Hey there, and welcome to Provident Appraisal. You might wonder what an appraisal is, what it means, and why it matters. Let's get to the basics!

What is an appraisal?

An appraisal is an opinion of value by a certified or licensed appraiser. Appraisals are independent valuations and can be done on any type of real estate. However, not every appraiser can appraise every type of property. Let's say you need to get a commercial property appraised (such as an apartment complex, office building, warehouse, retail location, etc.); you will need to find a commercial appraiser. On the other hand, if you need a residential property appraised (home, townhome, condominium, apartment, etc.), you need a residential appraiser.
